The BLUE STRATEGY SUMMIT 2026 conference aimed to highlight Greece’s strategic importance in the new maritime geo-economy, as well as its contribution to establishing a stable framework for dialogue on the shipbuilding industry, the maritime economy, energy security and defence production. The BLUE STRATEGY SUMMIT 2026, held at the InterContinental Athens on Monday 25 May under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republicwith the support of the Ministries of National Defence, Environment and Energy, Development, Labour and Social Security, Infrastructure and Transport, and Shipping and Island Policy.

The Minister for Labour and Social Security, Niki Kerameos, pointed out, amongst other things: «The sector has made impressive progress in recent years. A key prerequisite for implementing the strategic plan that has been presented is having the right people for every such crucial project. We are witnessing a significant transformation of the labour market.» He announced that a branch of the DYPA apprenticeship school had been established within the Greek shipyards. «This is a practical example of what we can achieve when there is collaboration between the public and private sectors. There is no greater investment than this in people,» he said.
