The association was founded in September 2023 «UNION OF GREEK SHIPYARDS», with the title «E.E.N.» and is based in the Municipality of Piraeus. Its founding members comprise 24 of the largest companies, trade unions and associations in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry.

 Mission and Vision

The Hellenic Shipbuilders’ Association aims to become a strong institutional body, which will act as a catalyst for developments in the future of the shipbuilding industry and as a platform linking the shipping sector with the country’s other productive sectors.

It aims to contribute to the redefinition of the relationships between industry, businesses, workers and institutional representatives, guided by the creative integration of the imperatives of sustainable development and the fostering of conditions that will make employment in the sector attractive. At the same time, its aim is to provide institutional safeguards for the Greek industrial ecosystem in a constantly changing environment, as well as to develop relationships of mutual cooperation with trade unions and relevant bodies.

At the same time, it aims to contribute consistently to strengthening the country’s shipbuilding industry and bolstering the national economy, by creating new «secure» jobs, expanding the Greek shipbuilding and ship repair sector’s share of the global and European markets, increasing public revenue and boosting GDP.

On behalf of its member companies, the Association seeks credible institutional representation, more effective access to decision-making bodies, the exploitation of development and funding opportunities, as well as social recognition.
